Joseph DebsJoe is a professional engineer and business executive with over forty years of practical, successful experience in building projects, communities, organizations, and companies. Today, he splits time between consulting roles on projects, providing strategic advice to businesses and investing in the economic and social improvement of historically underserved communities. A common theme in all. his current activities is improving the world of those he works with.

Joe is President of Debs Store, LL.C, and represents current generations of the Debs family in the partnership with local organizations for the renovation, expansion and reopening of Debs Store. Following the death of his father, Nicholas, in 2011, Joe began the initiative of bringing back a repurposed Debs Store to serve the Eastside neighborhood. Joe is also a charter member of the Board of the Historic Eastside Community Development Corporation (HECDC) further extending his service to the residents in the area.

Joe is a member of the Board of Directors of two nationally recognized engineering firms. Eisman & Russo, headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, provides the Southeast US high-quality planning, engineering, and construction engineering and management services. Alpha Corporation, headquartered in Dulles, VA, is a woman owned multidisciplinary construction consulting firm providing engineering, program management, project controls, and technology services. Both firms rank in the top 100 nationally in their respective areas of practice.

For over 40 years, Joe was a member of RS&H where he served in a variety of leadership roles including as an officer for 30+ years and a member of the Board of Directors for 12 years. Starting his career as a design engineer, involved in highly innovative and important projects globally. During his tenure in responsible, executive positions, RS&H grew from a Florida firm with four offices to a national/global firm with over fifty offices and a top 50 ranked firm in the US.

Joe served in many professional and community roles over his career leading task forces for Jacksonville Mayors Delaney, Peyton and Brown; serving on the Board of Advisors for the Jacksonville University Public Policy Institute, Board of Trustees for the Florida Chamber, Board of Governors for the Jacksonville Chamber. He was a member of the 1991 class of Leadership Jacksonville and Class IV for Leadership Florida. He was named the State of Florida Engineer of the Year and was the recipient of the Ben Watts Partnership Award presented by the Florida Department of Transportation in 2008.
